    European Youth Event (EYE2018)

    The 3rd European Youth Event (EYE2018) will take place on 1 and 2 June 2018. The venue of the European Parliament in Strasbourg will welcome over 8,000 people aged between 16 and 30 from all around Europe. The EP offers young Europeans an opportunity to submit their innovative ideas for the future of Europe and discuss them with the political leaders and inspiring personalities of the European scene.

    The EYE2018 includes a wide range of activities in English, French and German that focus on five themes: young and old: keeping up with the digital revolution; Rich and poor: calling for a fair share; Apart and together: Working out for a stronger Europe; Safe and dangerous: Staying alive in turbulent times; Local and global Protecting our planet.

    Candidates must apply between October and December 2017.

    Thirty years of exchanges within the Erasmus framework: The European Commission launches a mobile application to celebrate the anniversary

    The Erasmus+ mobile application is a major improvement for a programme which will help more than four million people to study, train or carry out voluntary activities abroad within 2014 and 2020. It will guide students, both from regular and vocational studies and young people through the Erasmus+ experience.

    With the Erasmus+ mobile application participants will:

    • easily follow their evolution in the various administrative steps; accept and sign online their study agreements with both the home university and the host university;
    • advise other participants and help them join the local community and vote for their favourite advices and
    • iImprove their language skills through the Erasmus + Online Linguistic Support, which offers e-tutoring courses and live tutoring sessions.

    Juvenile initiative: The Commission establishes a strategy for an education of big quality, inclusiva and oriented to the future

    In the Communication adopted on strategy of upper education the Commission presents his plans for four key fields:

    • Look after that the titled finish the upper education with the group of capacities that they and the modern economy need.
    • Create some systems of upper education inclusivos.
    • Look after that the institutions of upper education contribute to the innovation in the rest of the economy.
    • Support to the institutions of upper education and the governments so that they use of the best possible way the human and financial resources available.

    Finally, to guarantee that the upper education can contribute to promote the growth and the creation of employment, the universities have to adapt the plans of studies to the current needs and foreseen of the economy and the society, and the future students need up to date and reliable information that help them to decide which courses choose. This is the reason by which the Commission presents simultaneously a proposal of Recommendation of the Council on the follow-up of the titled, like part of the new Diary of Capacities for Europe, that will include to the titled of the programs of education and professional training in addition to the titled of upper education. This will encourage to the authorities of the States members to improve the quality and the availability of the information on the way in that they progress in his careers or in the continuous education after finalising his studies.

    The Commission has proposed also a budget for the next three years and a specific juridical base for the European Body of Solidarity.
