The University of Alicante's Interuniversity Institute of Geography opened on Monday 22 November, the "Jesús García Fernández" Lecture Hall in recognition of the work of the famous geographer, doctor honoris causa by the UA. García Fernández's private library has been transferred to the Institute by his family and it is available from the Hall bearing his name.
Book exhibition on gender violence
From 25 November to 15 December, the Reference Library of Economics celebrates the INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE ELIMINATION OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN with a small book exhibition and invites all students to participate with their reading.
The Platform for Citizens for the Republic has just opened an exhibition at the University of Alicante on the Working-class Colleges in the Second Spanish Republic. This activity is part of the 7th Republican Conference at the University of Alicante, that the Platform has organized for 17, 23 and 24 of this month.
"In order to mark the 14th edition of the Commerce, Industry and Craft's Fair -organized by the Town Hall of Sant Vicent del Raspeig- which will be celebrated on 12, 13 and 14 November, the Reference Library of Education has collaborated with the Faculty of Education in the organization of a "Workshop on Co-education and Reading promotion". This workshop has been performed by students of the Faculty of Education and will be located at a stand at this Fair.
The new degree programmes should include, in addition to theoretical knowledge, different cross-sectional skills, among which the use of computing tools and the ability to search, the analysis and information management are highlighted, such as it can be seen from the recommendations of White papers of ANECA's degree studies.
