BUVAL Consortium web presentation and catalogue search
BUVAL, the Consorci de Biblioteques Universitàries Valencianes, was established on May 11, 2021 with the signature of the 5 rectors of the Valencian public universities: Universitat de València, Universitat Politècnica de València, Universitat d'Alacant, Universitat Jaume I de Castelló y Universidad Miguel Hernández d'Elx.
In this first stage, the BUVAL Consortium offers as outstanding services the BUVAL Search, which makes it possible to retrieve results of materials from the five libraries and the BUVAL Loan, which will allow the academic and administrative staff to use this kind of loan in any of the participating libraries.
The cooperation has begun with the design and development of its own website hosted in a space provided by the Jaume I University of Castelló. A working group of the five participating libraries has been in charge of preparing it and it has been built with the Wordpress software.
Four sections stand out in the web menu:
- The heading The Consortium contains information about the participating universities, their objectives and the statutes of the signed Agreement.
- BUVAL loan gives information about the loan that allows the academic and the administrative staff of the five Valencian public universities to borrow up to 6 copies for 15 days in any of the participating libraries.
- The BUVAL Search section informs about the search that allows to retrieve results from the five university libraries.
- Finally, the website lists the institutional repositories to prove the commitment of the five universities with open access.
From the BUVAL web you can also access the Twitter account, where information about the consortium, its activities and the benefits for users will be shared
