Content:

Produced by the National Library of Medicine of United States, Medline and its Spanish version PubMed are the main databases in Health Science, including subjects related with the investigation in this area, and subjects related with the services of health care. Its researches are very precise and pertinent as it uses the thesaurus MeSH (Medical Subject Headings). As it collects fundamentally bibliographic references, it will be necessary to look for the availability of the articles afterwards. It is also an important source for the works of clinical evidence research.

Objectives :

  • Know how to access to each one, know use the basic research, and the advanced search (author, title, by fields, by keyword, etc.).
  • Know the use of the operators and of the terms of the thesaurus MeSH to make our research more specific and pertinent. Application of filters or limits to the research as an important part of the process.
  • Know how to interpret, manage and save the results obtained and locate them in full text. The research of the clinical evidence and, in the case of Medline, the peculiarities of the platform Ovid, can also be teached.
